How To Comfortably Visit The Major European Cities

If this is your first time traveling to Europe (or any other place outside your country) then the first thing I must tell you is “Congratulations!”. Traveling is such an amazing thing, so I am absolutely sure you’ll have a wonderful time.

Now I know that if you’re visiting more than one city, you must be overwhelmed right now because you’re not sure if you’ll be able to execute everything and organize yourself the right way.

But don’t worry! Everything is doable if you develop a certain strategy that’s going to help you thoroughly enjoy your trip. If you need some guidance when it comes to this, then check out my tips below.

Apply For Your Passport As Soon As Possible

This segment is dedicated to US residents. If you’ve never owned a passport before, then I must let you know that you should apply in person at a passport acceptance facility post office. Bear in mind that applying for it through a routine service frequently takes up to eight weeks.

Of course, you can always pay some money for expedited service so you can get your passport in two to three weeks. But the point is that something like this must be planned and done on time, otherwise, you won’t be able to go anywhere outside the place you live in.

Arrange Transport

This doesn’t refer to the flights you’ll be taking since I assume that you already know that you need to book one upfront in order to go anywhere. I’m talking about other things, in this case, a vehicle that’s going to drive you from the airport to your accommodation.

Guide for visiting major European citiesKeep in mind that airports tend to be very crowded and often it’s practically impossible to find someone that’s going to take you from one spot to another. That’s why you need to book these things in advance too. For example, if you want to take a taxi from Bratislava to Vienna airport, then there’s no point in waiting outside for a taxi to arrive. No siree! Instead, ensure to book a taxi online to be one hundred percent sure that you’ll get your vehicle as soon as you leave the airport.

In most instances, this type of service is very reliable and professional, and what’s even better, very cost-effective.

Have Travel Insurance

Whether you believe it or not, this is by far one of the most useful tips you can get when it comes to traveling. However, sadly, lots of tourists tend to overlook this thinking that travel insurance is only necessary if you’re traveling to so-called “risky” destinations.

But that’s far from reality. What they fail to understand is the fact that accidents can occur literally anywhere. You can be on the safest and most expensive cruise and still experience an incident, like slipping on stairs, or something like that.

And then, if you do not have travel insurance, you’ll end up paying a substantial amount of money for medical expenses. That’s precisely the main reason why travel insurance must be perceived as something mandatory.

Sort Out Money Matters

Traveling abroad requires some serious planning and one of them is related to your finances. There are several options for how you can pay for your purchases and I’ll discuss both pros and cons of each of them:

  • Credit card – A great thing about it is that you do not need to deal with the exchange rate, however, you’ll most likely have to pay a per-transaction fee along with a percentage of every sale (unless your credit card provides free foreign transactions).
  • The local currency that you get from the bank before you leave your house – You’ll have money the minute you land, including some bills for tips. However, don’t forget that the exchange rate may potentially be high.
  • The local currency you get from an ATM – In these instances, you won’t be obligated to carry lots of money from home, however, it’s highly likely that you’ll have to give money for a transaction fee and percentage of the transaction.

Comfortable Clothes And Shoes Are A Must

I know that a vast majority of people love to bring items with them that will make them look and feel beautiful and appealing. Although that’s fine, if you’re planning on visiting more than one European city, then you must prioritize comfort.

At the end of the day, you’ll be exploring their cultures and all of their sights, hence it’s essential to bring the right clothes and shoes for these purposes.

Europe is truly a mesmerizing continent that every person (who loves to travel) must explore at some point in their lives. But without these aforementioned tips, you won’t be able to do so properly, so be sure to implement them.
